Patcharee's Kitchen is committed to providing our customers a truly authentic & unforgettable Thai Dish.

It was 2006 when Patcharee and the pot washer met in Bangkok, moving to the island of PhaNgan (Koh PhaNgan) in the Gulf of Thailand a year later. In the small fishing village of Chaloklum they bought a beachfront building and opened a food and drink establishment that quickly became a local and expatriate hangout. After nearly a decade of living on the beach, running their small business, they moved to Gunnison to be closer to the pot washer’s children. 

In 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, Patcharee and the pot washer thought it would be a good idea to offer Thai food to the residents of Gunnison. Because of the growing concern surrounding the pandemic the two figured a high-quality takeout business had more potential than any other venue. After a quick trip to a Denver area Asian food store, the pot washer handed out several simple menus to neighbors. From their small house Patcharee began preparing meals and selling them to an ever-increasing crowd of locals. As her reputation grew so did her customer base, all founded on word of mouth and a simple Facebook page. Little did the two know how quickly the kitchen would grow.  As a result, it did not take the Health Department long to discover Patcharee and her ad hoc kitchen. The Health Department intervention turned into a good thing for Patcharee and the pot washer, forcing them to grow into a legitimate business.  With the help of the Heath Department and many other Gunnison government offices, Patcharee and the pot washer moved their business to the kitchen of the closed Last Chance honkytonk near the airport.  Six months later they moved again to their current location, the Gunnison Vitamin and Health Food Store.

Patcharee’s Kitchen has held true to the initial idea behind the business’ inception, providing customers with a high-quality and truly authentic Thai dish in takeout form. However, now with tables(6) and chairs(13), they welcome an increasing crowd of customers that prefer to sit down and enjoy their meal at Patcharee’s Kitchen. With the clatter of a busy kitchen and Patcharee’s choice of Thai music blaring in the background, its hard to beat the ambiance!

The small business of Patcharee’s Kitchen has an extensive customer base ranging as far away as Colorado Springs, Salida, Paonia, Crawford, and Montrose.  Even with a constantly growing cliental, Patcharee and the pot washer will never forget who was responsible for their initial success: Gunnison, Crested Butte, Almont, Pitkin, Lake City, and all places between.
